Community Groups (Page 2)>

Salhouse Jubilee Hall

The centre for most of the activity groups and  events taking place in the village. It is run by a management committee formed from these groups, under the Chair of Ann Shorten, which also endeavours to promote the use of the Hall to a wider community.
The Hall consists of a large main function room with capacity for up to 100 people, a secondary function room for 30 people, committee room, kitchen, toilet facilities and large car park. It is therefore ideal for many types of function such as parties etc.
“Salhouse 2000” club has been formed to raise funds through annual membership for support of the Hall running costs and provides a monthly cash prize draw.

Playgroup

Salhouse Playgroup is managed by a parent committee and has been in operation for over 30 years and with our qualified and dedicated staff provide a gentle introduction to the early years of education for children aged between 2 and 5 years. We are based in the Jubilee Hall and offer a wide range of activities including Painting, Modelling, Puzzles and Library Corner among many.

Playgroup sessions take place every morning of the week, with an extra one on Friday afternoons. In addition we also operate a “mini” Playgroup on a Thursday afternoon for children from 18 months where the parent stays with the child. Mini Playgroup offers the same range of activities as playgroup and enables the parent to observe how their child reacts so that when the child commences Playgroup at the age of 2 years both child and parent are comfortable with the surroundings and the staff.
Salhouse Playgroup operates an equal opportunities policy with trained special needs assistants.
