Salhouse Jubilee Hall

|
The centre for most of the activity groups and events
taking place in the village. It is run by a management committee formed
from these groups, under the Chair of Ann Shorten, which also endeavours
to promote the use of the Hall to a wider community.
The Hall consists of a large main function room with capacity for up to
100 people, a secondary function room for 30 people, committee room,
kitchen, toilet facilities and large car park. It is therefore ideal for
many types of function such as parties etc.
“Salhouse 2000” club
has been formed to raise funds through annual membership
for support of the Hall running costs and provides a monthly cash prize
draw.

Cub Scouts |
Beavers
and Cub Scouts is an excellent way for children to develop and learn new
skills under the care and guidance of trained leaders. Operating within
the National Scouting Organisation it enables children of all ages and
abilities to work on achieving greater skills and knowledge on a wide
range of subjects. There is also a major accent on outdoor fun
activities with sports, camping and other events.

Salhouse Playgroup
is
managed by a parent committee and has been in operation for over 30
years and with our qualified and dedicated staff provide a gentle
introduction to the early years of education for children aged between 2
and 5 years. We are based in the Jubilee Hall and offer a wide range of
activities including Painting, Modelling, Puzzles and Library Corner
among many.
Playgroup
sessions take place every morning of the week, with an extra one on
Friday afternoons. In addition we also operate a “mini” Playgroup on a
Thursday afternoon for children from 18 months where the parent stays
with the child. Mini Playgroup offers the same range of activities as
playgroup and enables the parent to observe how their child reacts so
that when the child commences Playgroup at the age of 2 years both child
and parent are comfortable with the surroundings and the staff.
Salhouse Playgroup operates an equal opportunities policy with trained
special needs assistants.

Rainbows, Brownies and Guides
 |
Each of
these groups is part of the ‘Girl Guiding UK’ experience aimed at
providing girls of all ages with fun combined with learning new skills.
This involves working towards a range of badges and projects whilst
also enjoying many outdoor activities and sports.

Salhouse Evening WI
 |
Salhouse WI meets on the second Monday of each
month at the Jubilee Hall at 7.30pm. We are a friendly and welcoming
group with interesting speakers every month in addition to arranging
several outings during the year.

Homewatch Scheme |
This scheme operates
throughout the village to help protect its residents from crime. A
number of co-ordinators are established and report back on any events
that may occur. The list of co-ordinators can be found in Salhouse Saga
magazine.
