‘Adopt a Station’ initiative.

Anglian Railways have recently set up an ‘Adopt a Station’ initiative, to bring a community perspective into their dealings with customers. Our local volunteer for Salhouse is Des O’Brien, who lives at Panxworth. The volunteer’s role includes passing on residents comments regarding the local station, and generally acting as a local voice with both the Rail operator and for local people. The local line is looking something of a bargain these days, as currently there are several offers for users. These include a £5 Bittern Line day Rover ticket, allowing travel to all stations between Norwich and Sheringham, a Two for One voucher (leaflet obtainable from Norwich station) which gives two people travel for the price of a single fare, and free bus travel from Norwich Station to the City Centre and back, for purchasers of day return tickets. With the price of parking in the City, this might be an attractive option! Recently, fly tipping has been cleared at the site, old graffiti removed, and floral tubs introduced on both platforms. Further improvements are in the pipeline. Des may be contacted on 01603 270588, or email zepdes@waitrose.com
