Salhouse Youth Club has now been running for four months and the response has been very good. We have about 30 young people attending each session and they enjoy playing darts, pool, table tennis, team games like indoor hockey and dodge ball. They can play chess, scrabble, bagatelle or try their skill at karaoke. We have just recruited a lady who provides craft projects which is proving popular. During the fine weather we are making use of the Playing Field where we can offer more energetic activities.

We intend to offer a meeting each week through the Summer Holidays and have organized a Karaoke and Disco during the last week before School reopens. This will be on Thursday 28^th August at 7.30. Watch out for posters around the village. During the winter months we hope to arrange visits from people of interest and those who can demonstrate crafts and skills. We also want to offer outings to ten pin bowling, skating, skiing, sailing and many more activities.

In order to provide a club that meets the needs of its members, our constitution requires us to have in place a committee which includes some of the members of Salhouse Youth Club as well as some adults. This has to be in place in September. Please encourage your children to stand for this committee to ensure that the type of entertainment provided suits their needs.

Getting the club up and running has taken a great deal of time and energy by a dedicated group of people and I thank them all for ‘staying with it’ and to all the other people who have volunteered to help or have provided equipment and advice. We would welcome help from other people, either on a regular basis or on one evening to teach a skill. Telephone me on 721527 with your offers.
