This website is provided under the auspices of Salhouse Parish Council for the purpose of promoting the village of Salhouse, in Norfolk England, for the benefit of the inhabitants and the local economy. It contains a range of information about the Village, its History, Amenities, Events and Community groups as well as information from Salhouse Parish Council about local governmental matters.

Salhouse Village, and Parish, is situated on the edge of the Norfolk Broads National Park within the Broadland District of the county of Norfolk  in a rural setting approximately 6 miles northeast of the city of Norwich. It is partly bounded by the River Bure to the east and the “Bittern Line” railway in the west.

There are some 650 dwellings within the village and a populace of around 1600 persons. A significant part of the village is designated a Conservation Area and includes Salhouse Broad which lies within the village boundary providing a haven for wildlife and environmental protection. (A 'Broad' is an area of water created from ancient peat diggings, or gravel as at Salhouse)

Local public amenities comprise a Village Shop cum Post Office, Primary School, Village Hall, Church, Sports/Playing Field and two Public Houses. A network of public footpaths surround the village.

Public transport is available in the form of bus and train services, principally to the city of Norwich, but also to the nearby retail, business and leisure boating centre at the co-joined villages of Wroxham & Hoveton located just 2 miles to the north of Salhouse.  The road network to these centres is good and a Norwich City Park and Ride facility is also close by.

Salhouse is therefore a convenient countryside location for residents and visitors alike to access Norwich and the Norfolk Broads.
