Theft of Heating Oil and Diesel There
have been 15 reported incidents of this crime in the Broadland area
since the being of this year.
Domestic properties farms and commercial properties have been targeted.
Please look at your security.
Thieves will want to get their vehicle as near to the tank as possible.
So by taking some crime prevention measures then you can stop yourself
from becoming the next victim.
Ensure that your tank is in a position that access to it can be
restricted i.e. locked gates.
Not hidden from view easily seen from other properties nearby.
Control switches should be located in a secure building and the
electricity supply turned off when the tank is not in use.
Good security lighting.
A good quality locking device should be fitted to all fuel tanks such as
a high quality shackle padlock.
A metal cage or fencing around the tank.
Drive way alarms are available from myself at Sprowston Police Station
priced at #20 If you would like further information regarding Crime
Prevention then please call Norfolk Constabulary and ask for the Crime
